Alex joined Cuneo, Black, Ward & Missler in 2015 and became a shareholder in 2022. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 2010 and received his designation as a Certified Workers’ Compensation Specialist by the State Bar of California in 2023.

Prior to joining our firm, Alex worked as a volunteer attorney at the Sacramento County Public Defender office and later as an attorney at the Children’s Law Center of Sacramento. He was also outside counsel at a Napa Valley law firm, providing legal consultation to various wine-industry clients.

Primary Focus

Alex represents public agencies and self-insured employers, with a concentration on representing insurance carriers. He handles all areas of workers’ compensation defense, including Serious & Willful misconduct and 132a petitions at all Workers’ Compensation Boards in California.

Alex has worked extensively with clients that have high-deductible policies. Alex has experience formulating and coordinating litigation strategies with both the claims adjustor and employer representative.
